Ohio State Men’s Basketball Claims a share in the Big Ten Title! Now Tournament Bound!
This brings the buckeyes total of Big Ten championships to 19! They hold the record for the 3rd most titles trailing only Indiana and Purdue who both have 21. Next up for the buckeyes is the Big Ten tournament. The men’s team will be battling it out in Indianapolis March 11-14. The team, although having its ups and downs, has pulled off a great season so far. Their record is 24-7 and they are currently ranked number 5 in the AP poll. The back breaking injury to #21, Evan Turner, was a hard one to swallow at first, but the resilient Turner came back in full force only after missing 8 weeks. His strength as an athlete and a leader, not to mention his amazing athletic ability, has been a major factor in the team’s performance so far this season. For more on Evan Turner check out Evan Turner’s Biography at OSU. Let’s hope that they can carry this on through the tournament.
I know I will be watching the Big Ten Tournament this weekend and cheering on the buckeyes, but let’s be honest, my countdown is really set for that Sunday the 14th at 7:00pm. This is when the brackets will be announced. For me, this marks the official start to March Madness! March Madness is one of my top favorite holidays of the year along with Christmas, the BSC Championship, Easter, the Super bowl, St. Patrick’s Day, and the World Series. Why we don’t get more days off work for some of these holidays is still a mystery to me. Anyway, stay tuned for my madness this March on the entire tournament.
