Drink, Drank, Saved BIG!

So this warm weather can only mean one thing; patio drinking! Why else would it be sunny and warm in April? A high of 80 degrees just calls me to a porch, deck, or patio well equipped with a beer (or six) to enjoy this fine blessing of warm weather finally showing up to the party.

After rallying the troops and seeing who is all down for “porchin’ it,” and getting a good head count, the next step in the dream is to pick the place. (Time isn’t that important of a factor in the equation because one to two people will meet at the beginning of venture and the rest will follow when it is fitting for their schedule.) Anyway, back to the most important, location, location, location!

The patio size and number of seating areas on the patio are critical in the decision making process. Narrowing down the choices by ruling out the patios that absolutely suck and don’t deserve to be called a “patio” there is one more important aspect that must be considered.

Drink specials, happy hour prices, and any other beer or liquor deals call to my heart and ultimately, the final answer for the place of the night rests on where the heart is. You might be wondering how I find out the specials at the bars on campus and downtown and evaluate which has the best specials to meet my needs.

Well, I never leave the house without checking uweekly.com and clicking on the drinks tab. Here you can find all the food, beer, and liquor specials at the local bars by day of the week. This site is especially awesome for those of you rare people out there who plan things more than three hours before going out.

Meet you on the patio!

  1. Just turned 21 so this is awesome to know where the best spots are to look. Keep up the good work!!!

  2. Hey Jeff! Thanks for the comment and Happy Birthday by the way! I hope the bars are treating you well and the hang overs aren’t too bad yet. Since I blogged about drinking I think it only makes sense to do a blog about hangovers so stay tuned! You definately need to make sure you check those sites before heading out because nothing is worse than paying 5 bucks for a 12oz beer when the bar next you has them for a buck on draft!
