Clash of The Blind Side…2 Movies, 1 Post!

First off, I must say that for the past week I have been without internet at my place of residence.  I thought I’d be fine, but after the first night I felt as if I was shut out from everything, wondering what was going on in the world.  I know. I’m pathetic.  Womp, womp.

While I was without internet, to pass the time I rented “The Blind Side” and went to see “Clash of The Titans” (in 3D).  Let me start of with the latter.

If you went to see this, or are considering seeing this movie, you are probably expecting an action flick that is a man’s movie.  You are expecting the right thing!  It’s a decent action movie with a decent plot.  It’s nothing special, so don’t expect “Avatar” (even though they both share the same leading actor, Sam Worthington).  I will say that he is probably at the top of my list as up-and-coming actors…I mean he has taken on three huge roles in three consecutive movies, and hasn’t dissapointed yet!

My two thoughts, go see this movie for a good way to pass some time, but don’t expect anything too great.  It’s a fun action movie, nothing more.

Now on to “The Blind Side,” and the lovely Sandra Bullock.  Did she deserve the nomination, yes.  Did the movie deserve the nomination, no.  Sorry.  This movie isn’t anything special, doesn’t bring anything new to the table, and doesn’t compete with other similar movies such as “Remember the Titans.”  Although based on a true story, it didn’t appeal to my emotional side at all.  Watching Rudy play at the end of “Rudy,” or watching the young men of different backgrounds and races come together in “Remember the Titans” really made me feel.  This movie could have moved me as well, had it given me more insight in to what Michael’s life was like before moving in with his new family.  It is for this reason that I can’t see it as a Best Picture movie, but can still appreciate it for what it is…a nice family friendly movie, which shows us that Bullock can actually act when she wants to.

Whats up next…that would be “Date Night,” which I will be seeing on my date night!

Have a good week everyone!

  1. I've heard similar thoughts on the Blind Side. Ok, but not all cracked up to be award winning esp. Sandra Bullock. Have not seen, but not sure I will either. As for the Clash of the Titans…well like most movies before I go to see them I visit http://www.rottentomatoes.com/ for all the latest reviews. Since it did not get the ratings I thought it would so I said forget it I'll just wait until DVD release. If I want to watch a vidoe game I'll just stay home for that!!

So my question is when are we getting a review for The Last Song? DAMNNNN it got horrible reviews, but I know how much of a Miley fan you are so I am dying to hear your thoughts!!

  2. I agree with you on the “Blind Side” nice movie, but not nearly able to pull the heart strings like other sports films.
So how was “Clash of the Titans”? I love the original for the cheesy claymation….how was it updated?
