Iron Man 2: And The Verdict Is…
So this past weekend I saw “Iron Man 2″ and boy was I impressed! I mean, I’ve read the reviews from fans and critics, and for the most part they are dead on. Trusty ‘ole rottentomatoes.com has it as a certified fresh pick, as it should be, because this movie really does have it all. If you are looking for a movie that has a good and solid storyline with some flirtatious banter between two lead characters and plenty of humor mixed throughout, and a splash of action that really does look real, then this movie is for you!
For those of you who have seen the original “Iron Man,” you know that at the end Tony Stark publicly announces that he is in fact Iron Man. This concept of having someone who acts as more of a controlled vigilante that is looked up to as a hero being publicly known is so riveting, because almost all other “Superhero” concepts are about people living two separate lives, whereas this movie shows Tony Stark/Iron Man as one complete character; the lines of separation are completely blurred. This concept also explains why most other superheroes choose to have a public identity different than their hero alias…it’s an automatic bull’s-eye for anyone who despises all that is good in this world! This open-identity concept is what drives the story from start to finish, and really creates a great sequel in an already great franchise.
Robert Downey Jr. pulls of another amazing performance as Tony Stark/Iron Man, and Don Cheadle works his way in nicely as the character of Rhodey/War Machine. The rest of the returning cast also do a great job reprising their roles, so I hope the nothing changes with the cast between now and the next installment of this franchise.
All in all, this movie gives us a great start to what I hope will be a great summer of movies. If you weren’t a part of the group who spent a combined $133 million here in the U.S. over the weekend seeing this movie, you must go this weekend. It’s a definite DO NOT MISS.
That’s it for now folks. Stop by again as I look to review the new take on “Robin Hood,” which I expect to be a major disappointment, but we shall see.
Have a Good Week, and if you see it, be sure to let me know what you thought of “Iron Man 2!”

Definatly a fun exciting movie! Good villians and lots of action in this one. Still a bigger fan of the 1st one but in a day and age with lots of crap for sequels this one was worth going!
I have to disagree with you two. I was not a fan of the sequel as this is the case for many. I felt they held all the action until the very end of the movie & the cheesy one liners were a little annoying, but JMO. Still love Iron Man, but agree the 1st one ROCKED!! Didn’t quite get the random last minute romantic scene with Tony & Pepper?? Seemed outta place.
Did you guys see Robin Hood the weekend? Worth seeing?
