UV and Mid Ohio Food Bank Drive

When you think of November, you may think of turkey, stuffing and pie, but most importantly, all the many things you are thankful for!  The great part about recognizing how thankful you are is that it allows you to recognize those who are less fortunate and to give back.  Hunger is reality within the state of Ohio.  According to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank many families are forced every day to make the decision between food and shelter.

Many do not realize the staggering impact hunger has on Central and Eastern Ohio.  Nearly 20% of children in Ohio live in poverty.

We want to help and give back, so UV will be having a food drive to show our support, but we need you and your neighbors and the entire UV community to help as well.  We will be collecting canned, boxed and dried goods in our leasing office from November 1-November 21st.  Any donation is helpful and appreciated, no matter if it is just one item.  Please take a moment to search through your cabinets to find something you can donate and share with others.  The Mid-Ohio Food Bank is also seeking volunteers to help during the holiday season.  If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact them at 614-317-9703.

November is a time to give thanks and to give back.  Whether you celebrate the holiday or not, we can all give thanks for something in our lives.  Take  a look around at all you have and don’t forget to thank those who make it possible.  We, at University Village, want to say thank you to all of our residents, families and friends. Without you, we wouldn’t be here or who we are!
